USO Y APLICACIÓN DE LAS TECNOLOGÍAS DE INFORMACIÓN Y COMUNICACIÓN EN EL DESEMPEÑO DE LOS DOCENTES. EL CASO DE LA CARRERA DE CONTABILIDAD Y AUDITORÍA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD LAICA “ELOY ALFARO” DE MANABÍ

Today in Ecuador, changes are present in Higher Education hoping get back their public dimension with relevant aspects of quality and, one of these manifestations is the change in the University Teacher role. An important implement that allow making a significant change within this area is the Information and Communication Technology (ICT). In this context, the purpose about this article is determine the use and application of ICT and relate this with the performance of teachers in Engineering career of Accounting and Auditing (CICA) of the Laic University “Eloy Alfaro” of Manabí (ULEAM), in an effort to provide the improvements the teaching-learning process in their classrooms. It is not about the invention of new methodologies, but about the proper use of ICTS in the career, that will open new prospects for better teaching supported in online environments whose strategies are common practices in the face teaching, but are now rediscovered and adapted in its virtual format.  Hoy en día en el Ecuador, se presentan cambios  en la Educación Superior con la única finalidad de recuperar su dimensión pública con aspectos relevantes de calidad; y una de estas manifestaciones es el cambio en el rol del Docente Universitario. Una herramienta importante que permitirá plantear un cambio significativo dentro de este ámbito son las tecnologías de la información y comunicación (TIC). En este contexto, el objetivo de este artículo es caracterizar el uso y aplicación de las TIC’S por parte de los docentes   y correlacionarlo con  el desempeño de estos, con el afán de  mejorar el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje dentro de sus aulas. No se busca la invención de nuevas metodologías, sino que el uso adecuado de las TIC en la carrera, abrirá nuevas perspectivas  respecto a una mejor enseñanza apoyada en entornos en línea cuyas estrategias son prácticas habituales en la enseñanza presencial, pero que ahora son adaptadas y redescubiertas en su formato virtual
